Interview with Jane Zheng custom shoe painter designs one of a kind shoes
I’m Jane Zheng, a Montreal-based custom shoe painter and graphic illustrator. I like to make custom shoe art that helps people express their personal passions and creativity. Having a background in psychology while in university, I feel accomplished in my craft if I’ve heard a person well enough to capture their own vision for them in their commissioned piece of art. I would like people to feel as proud of their shoes as I am of my work. My style is inspired by street artists who capture the liveliness of master crafters like Picasso and Basquiat in an accessible-to-all, down-to-earth kind of humor. I also illustrate t-shirts and vinyl stickers.
