ATOOC: Wind Problems at ABIA
In this episode, we fly over to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA). Heavy wind gusts caused an Elite Air Challenger 300 series aircraft to violently swerve on takeoff. This resulted in a wing strike and the aircraft exiting the runway, coming to rest on the grass. The tower puts a hold on all other aircraft and closes the airport. ATOOC: January 29th Crash Near DCA
Our thoughts go out to all of the families who lost someone in this recent tragedy. In this episode, we have the audio from the control tower leading up to the mid-air crash of American Eagle flight 5342 and an Army helicopter near Washington Reagan airport (DCA). The flight was carrying 64 passengers and crew from Wichita, Kansas to DC and collided with the helicopter performing a training flight with 3 service members on board.
