Hello, and welcome to the 100th episode of I Hate Bill Maher. I'd call this episode uncensored and uncut, but my guest Diego McCafferty kept saying his address on the show so I had to spend a day and a half making sure I didn't miss of them. Other than that, this thing is filled with the type of unrelated to Bill Maher bull shit that I normally edit out of an episode, only there was way more of it. We're unmedicated! It's not our fault! A mere three days out from the California Primaries, we watched Real Time season 24, episode 16. Diego tried to quit talking about it multiple times, and all things considered the episode was pretty unremarkable in how absolutely low effort everything was, including the bottom of the barrel guests. Look, I'm finally done editing it and it truly is just sprawling and completely unfocused, which is something I would normally never let happen in an episode but this is 100 and also it's impossible to have any other kind of conversation with Diego. Oh, and also at the very end of the episode he started waving his mic around like a maniac, so that's what all the mechanical noise is.

Real Time season 24 has taken a break this week, so in its place I have decided to take my guests Monika Scott (new!) and Emily Faye (returning!) from the Medium Literate Podcast down a horrible, horrible stroll through memory lane. I'm not going to give it away here (even though you can probably guess) and oh boy, we were all so fucking afraid! Bill Maher adjusts to a new way of doing comedy, multiple celebrities are interviewed with varying levels of audio quality, and we get a weird little peek inside Bill Maher's home. Also, Monika put consideration into the judgement free question zone to such a degree that I had to edit out stretches of thoughtful silence.

Look, I know it's pretty rich coming from me given what this whole show is, but I resent having current events analyzed by some fucking pop history podcaster who has a show called "History's Greatest Fails". Like, be fucking serious!!! This week, Jeremy Appel returns to experience new Maher, and he insults the History's Greatest Fails guy by calling him "unctuous", something I was unaware was an insult and that I assumed was like just for food. The one on one interview IS good this week. I haven't seen Ben McKenzie's doc, but I read Easy Money and it's really good. Honestly, you should read it, too.
