Locked On Big 10 – Daily College Football & Basketball Podcast

Former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore's former mistress and executive assistant within the Michigan football office may be brewing up a major lawsuit against the university.  Michigan seems to be stonewalling her efforts to collect evidence through the Freedom of Information Act.  Michigan cannot afford another public black eye and it is our opinion the school should just pay her off and make a clean break from the Sherrone Moore era and let new Michigan football coach Kyle Whittingham have a clean slate as he prepares for his first college football season in Ann Arbor.

We also have updates from the recruiting trail including information on QB Lukas Prock and Penn State QB commit James Armstrong.  Also, Wisconsin just unveiled its special uniforms for the Notre Dame game and we are not fans of the new look.  But maybe they will grow on us.

Former Ohio State football coach and current college football analyst Urban Meyer says new Penn State football coach Matt Campbell will get hammered by fans if he struggles in Happy Valley.  Meyer noted how the expectations for Penn State football are much higher than at Iowa State.  And he is right!  Nittany Lions fans ran former Penn State football coach James Franklin out of town despite winning ten games every year, not to mention he was a field goal away from beating Notre Dame in the College football playoff semifinal the previous season.

In recruiting wars we look at how Michigan is jumping into the state of Ohio as it tries to land 4-star running back Catrae Ligon and 4 star offensive lineman Jace Montgomery.

The NCAA sent an LOI, or a letter of inquiry to Cincinnati about former Bearcat and former Indiana Hoosiers QB Brendan Sorsby about his sports-betting habits.  This won't end well for the Bearcats.  We think the Hoosiers will be fine.  

And finally we look at the weekend programming on the Big Ten Network and point out our favorite Big Ten Classics as they re-air numerous games from yesteryear for Nebraska, Oregon and Iowa this weekend.

Would the Big Ten invite Coach Prime Deion Sanders and Colorado football to the Big Ten during the next round of college football expansion and realignment?   Despite the fact that the Save College Sports Act, if passed would threaten future expansion and realignment, we have suggested the Big Ten act swiftly and invite teams like Utah football and Colorado football to the Conference.

We also take a close look at recruiting and note how Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule is tearing up the recruiting trail by landing 4-star wide receiver commit Khalil Taylor.  He is from Pennsylvania and picked the Huskers over Penn State.  And he would have been the exact type of player Penn State has been lacking for many years dating back to the James Franklin era.  Back to Rhule, his 2027 class is ranked 16th in the country and 4th in the Big Ten with 5 star quarterback Trae Taylor also coming!

We also have news about Michigan target Josh Dobson who picked South Carolina.  But we tell you why we think he will flip back to Michigan football.

Utah football would make a great addition to the Big Ten via expansion and realignment.  However the Big Ten may need to act quickly before Congress freezes expansion and realignment with the Save College Sports Act with a Bill that will change college football forever!  Locked on Big Ten weighs the pros and cons of such a move and warns how this Bill could have negative effects on the Big Ten.

Meanwhile on the recruiting front Ohio State and Oregon land a couple of 5 star wide receivers for the future.  And Michigan basketball seems to have kept the team of transfers and recruits together despite Dusty May's departure for the NBA.

Finally, Locked on Big Ten closes with its Top Ten Big Ten Observations from the weekend which includes Joey Chestnut's famous run of eating hotdogs and 4th of July fireworks galore!
