• WOW! Florida QB DJ Lagway to Enter the Transfer Portal!; Where Could He End Up?

  Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway has announced his intention to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal when the next window opens (January 2–16, 2026), after two seasons with the Gators. He shared the decision on social media, noting it came after “prayer, reflection, and thoughtful consideration.” Lagway was a former five-star recruit and one of the top quarterback prospects nationally in the 2024 class. As a freshman, he emerged midseason and showed strong play, but his 2025 season was more inconsistent. Florida has undergone major changes recently, including firing head coach Billy Napier and hiring a new coach in Jon Sumrall, which may be a factor in Lagway’s decision. Lagway still has multiple years of eligibility remaining, so he is expected to be a sought-after quarterback in the portal.
