The Phoenix Suns’ first-round exit has ushered in the offseason, and there are a number of questions this team must answer moving forward. The Phoenix Suns’ season is officially over, as they bowed out of the first round of the NBA Playoffs with a loss to the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder. And while Phoenix did not manage to earn a win in the series, the Suns’ season was much more than coming up short in the playoffs.

 

Phoenix was not expected to come anywhere near the postseason but instead outdid preseason projections to win 45 games — nine more than it turned in during the previous season. More than just exceeding expectations, the Suns displayed character traits that can define the franchise beyond just this season, a positive sign for things to come.

The Phoenix Suns’ 2025-26 season is officially over as they suffered a series sweep at the hands of the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder. OKC earned a 131-122 win in Game 4 of the series, but Phoenix fought throughout the game and made its opponent sweat.

 

In the loss, Phoenix was led by 24 points from Devin Booker, though 22 of those points came in the second half. The Thunder were led by 31 points from MVP finalist Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, while the team shot 17 of 34 from beyond the arc. The Suns shot 14 of 38 from deep.
