Greg Laurie: A New Beginning

Butch Hartman found mainstream success as the creator of The Fairly OddParents, a huge hit for Nickelodeon. But when he wanted to create a Christian cartoon, he knew no major studio would back him. So he and his wife funded the first episodes of The Garden on their own.
In this clip, Butch and Pastor Greg talk about why big studios avoid Christian messaging, Hollywood's double standard on Christian content, and why The Garden is so important for families.

Have you noticed how problems always seem bigger in the middle of the night? They can overwhelm us. They can rob us of sleep and steal our peace. In the middle of the night, when we can’t figure out what to do, we need to remember that God works the night shift. He’s up all night anyway, why not cast our cares on Him? Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie returns to the Sermon on the Mount for great reassurance from Jesus Himself for worry-free days and restful nights.

How many of us have worried a problem away? We spent hours wracked with anxiety, and that did it! Problem solved. No, not likely. Author Erma Bombeck famously said, “Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere.” Well today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out that it’s actually possible to live a worry-free life. We’ll see where to focus our eyes instead.

We’ve all been treated unfairly. Maybe they let us down, they put us down, they kept us down. And we may have paid a dear price for it. Maybe it happened 20 years ago . . . or 20 minutes ago. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out what it does to us when we carry that burden of resentment. We’ll look to the words of Jesus Himself and find a way to set ourselves free from that bondage. We’ll see forgiveness sets a person free. Not the perpetrator, the victim.

Think of the conversations you have with a good friend of yours. If the only time you spoke to them was to ask a favor or borrow a couple of bucks, that relationship would start to feel pretty shallow. No, good friends connect with each other and let the relationship deepen. Today, on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us see prayer as more than just a request line. We’ll see it’s a way for us to deepen our relationship with the Lord, and bring our will in line with His will. We’ll see prayer is a lifeline to a loving God.
