My guest today on MEANWHILE is director, writer, editor, and actor, Vera Drew. Vera has worked on some of the best comedy created in the last decade including: On Cinema, Tim & Eric, I Think You Should Leave, Comedy Bang-Bang, and more. In 2024 she released the impossible film, THE PEOPLE'S JOKER which won her a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Director.
We talk about her mom's art, the magick of video cameras, Improv and all who sail with it, David Lynch's influence on her work, his loss, her film The People's Joker, the tragic beauty of Fire Walk With Me, Mullholland Drive, The Return, what's going on with Audrey Horne, and a lot more I am too tired to write about right now.
