- There are two sorts of unity that are set before us in this memorial, one of them rebellious and idolatrous, and the other submissive and obedient. By confusing the languages, God scattered an early attempt at rebellious unity at Babel, the forerunner of all globalist attempts to govern the world apart from Christ. The thing that made this rebellious unity sinful was not the unity per se, but rather the fact that the unity was being built on a rebellious foundation. The problem was not the unity, but rather the fact that the unity was idolatrous and hostile to Heaven. Of course, such unity is not really a true unity at all

Do you let vendors sell popcorn and hot dogs? Of course not. Do you sell tickets? Of course not. You obviously must have tickets, but they would have to be apportioned by lottery. Executions must not be allowed to degenerate into a commercial enterprise.

IT'S HERE! Pre-Order the 4th installment of the Ashtown Burial Series at ashtownburials.com. - Just a few short days ago, Dinesh D’Souza decided to start talking trash about Calvinism online, and—let us be frank—that created something of a set-to. The imbroglio consisted of two parts. One part had to do with the standard doctrinal questions which naturally arise whenever these questions come up. “Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?”. How can God be sovereign and at the same time man be free and responsible? I will just note in passing that this standard objection to Calvinism shows up in the New Testament as a standard objection to Pauline theology. Somebody should explain that. Just saying.

Pre-Order the 4th installment of the Ashtown Burial Series at ashtownburials.com. - Last week Eric Erickson published an article that claimed to have connected a lot of dots on what has come to be called the Woke Right. That article is here. He traced a lot of our woes back to Charles Haywood, a big donor on the hard right, and formulator of the “no enemies to the right” approach, and which Erickson claimed has led to lots of bad stuff.

IT'S HERE! Pre-Order the 4th installment of the Ashtown Burial Series at ashtownburials.com. - One of the intellectual problems that conservative Christians have is that they have allowed evolutionary assumptions to seep into their understanding of human history downstream from the question of our origins. They deny the theory of evolution proper, as well they ought, considering it to be, in the words of Malcolm Muggeridge, “one of the great jokes of history.” This is fine and good, as we all need a good laugh from time to time. But the discussions and debates about evolution all tend to center on the early chapters of Genesis, intelligent design, and arguments about how the Grand Canyon formed.

Sobre Blog & Mablog
The point of this podcast is pretty broad — “All of Christ for all of life.” In order to make that happen, we need “theology that bites back.” I want to advance what you might call a Chestertonian Calvinism, and to bring that attitude to bear on education, sex and culture, theology, politics, book reviews, postmodernism, expository studies, along with other random tidbits that come into my head. My perspective is usually not hard to discern. In theology I am an evangelical, postmill, Calvinist, Reformed, and Presbyterian, pretty much in that order. In politics, I am slightly to the right of Jeb Stuart. In my cultural sympathies, if we were comparing the blight of postmodernism to a vast but shallow goo pond, I would observe that I have spent many years on these stilts and have barely gotten any of it on me.
