In response to this man’s healing, the jews do not rejoice but criticize. We ask ourselves if we function with criticism or if we look for the good in what the Lord is doing no matter what.

Before he is healed, we see the man giving excuses as to why he has not been healed. We see these lies in our own lives and ask the Lord to help us receive His healing.

As we read about this man’s healing, we see that Jesus knew His story and went directly to him. We discuss how Jesus sees and knows each of our stories and comes to fine each one of us.

This week we read John 5 and see Jesus’ healing a paralyzed man. As we begin our week, Jesus reveals through the passage that He is the only true source of healing.

As we grow in Christ, we grow in the fruits of the Spirit and walking in the Holy Spirit. But the more we follow our flesh, the deeper we are led into sin and bondage and ultimately death. Today we discuss this struggle between our flesh and the Spirit.
