The world has never been more connected. Whether you live in a large city or a small town, you're likely to meet people from different countries, cultures, languages, and backgrounds.
This diversity has brought exciting opportunities, but it has also raised important questions. How do different cultures live together? What are the benefits of multicultural societies? Are there challenges? And how can learning English help us communicate across cultures?
In today's episode, we'll explore the idea of multiculturalism, learn useful vocabulary and expressions, and discuss some thought-provoking questions that will help you express your own opinions in English.

Advanced English verb tense review - AIRC636

    30/08/2026 | 30min
If you're a regular listener to the podcast, there's a good chance you've already mastered the basic English tenses. If so, congratulations! You've got the foundation. But if you've ever wondered why native speakers say "I'll have finished by Friday" instead of "I'll finish by Friday" or "I'd been waiting for an hour" instead of "I waited for an hour," this episode is for you.
Today, we're exploring the advanced verb tenses that help you sound more fluent, tell better stories, and express yourself with much greater precision. Don't worry, this isn't a grammar lecture. We'll explain each tense with practical examples, and plenty of real-life discussion.

Advanced modifiers for comparatives and superlatives - AIRC635

    23/08/2026 | 29min
If you've been studying English for a while, I'm sure you remember learning basic comparatives and superlatives and seeing expressions like 'bigger than', 'more expensive' and 'the best/worst' in your coursebook.
But native speakers don't stop there!
At a more advanced level, if we want to say that something is better, we might say, 'significantly better', 'far more interesting', a great deal better' or 'by far the best'.
These words are called modifiers because they change the strength of the comparison, and in this episode you'll learn some common advanced modifiers and how to use them in English.
