Hour 1 - Boomer & Gio are out for one last day so it’s Jerry and Chris McMonigle today. C-Mac is pumped after last night’s Yankees comeback win. He called it the best win of the season. They didn’t have a hit until the 8th inning and they were down 5-0. Cal Raleigh said their closer was tipping his slider and runners on second could see it. Peter Schwartz is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Yankees comeback. Aaron Judge talked about the impressive slide at home from Volpe. Stanton talked about his first ever pinch hit HR. Jazz Chisholm will be in the HR derby. We heard the sounds of the Mets losing a double header in Baltimore. The Mets play in KC and will be getting Senga and Manaea back. Former manager Lee Elia passed away. We played his famous rant against Cubs fans from 1983. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry has some clips of coaches going off.
Hour 2 - The Mets lost a double header in Baltimore. They had a lead in both games. Jerry cannot believe they took David Peterson out in the 8th inning after having an easy 7th. The Mets have to go into KC and win the series going into the all-star break. It was an ugly day yesterday for them. Peter returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Yankees comeback win over the Mariners. Aaron Judge talked about coming back down 5 runs after not getting a hit until the 8th. We heard the sounds of the Mets losing a double header in Baltimore. Keith Hernandez almost got hit by a foul ball yesterday and didn’t realize it. We talked about bobblehead giveaways as the Dodgers are giving out 40,000 of Kobe instead of the usual 17,000. In the final segment of the hour, the Yankees have a giveaway involving a child author and a pigeon.
Hour 3 - We started the hour with the news from Sports Business Journal that said for Subway Series viewing, SNY had 70% more viewers than the YES Network and we are trying to figure out why. C-Mac thinks the Mets fan has a deeper connection to Gary, Keith & Ron than the Yankees have with Michael Kay. Peter returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Yankees coming back down 5-0 to beat the Mariners. We also heard the sounds of the Mets losing a double header in Baltimore. Evan Roberts doesn’t seem to know that Steve Cohen’s ‘Fab Four’ reference was about the Beatles. In the final segment of the hour, we took more calls on why more people tuned into SNY over YES for the Subway Series.
Hour 4 - We started the hour with talk of the Yankees win last night, which C-Mac thinks was their best win of the series. They were being no-hit until the 8th inning and were down 5-0 and won the game. Cal Raleigh said after the game their closer was tipping pitches, in particular his slider. After getting swept in a double header yesterday, the Mets have to take 2-of-3 in KC before the all-star break. Peter returns for his final update of the day and starts with the Yankees win including the sounds of Volpe’s tremendous slide into home on the Judge sac fly. Stanton talked about his first career pinch-hit HR. The Mets lost a double-header in Baltimore. David Peterson was named to the all-star game. Kodai Senga will start tonight in KC. The Moment of The Day: Peter Schwartz is wrong. In the final segment of the show, Rick Springfield was on the Today Show and Al Roker’s co-host yawned and he asked if he was boring them. Jerry played a song by a band that is not a real band, it’s A-I. We also talked about scanning groceries while you shop so you can check out on your own.
