Your local surroundings vibrated at a rate tuned specifically to your local architecture, local mood, and local geography. Sound was something that defined your position in the universe.

Then, somewhere along the way, everything was tuned to a global standard of 440 Hz. We lost our local frequencies.

So why did we change it? Was 440 Hz adopted for convenience? Or was it chosen?
