What happens when some of the world’s best skiers and snowboarders stop chasing the perfect line and take a day off? Nicole sits down with filmmaker, comedian, and longtime ski industry personality Katie Burrell, host and narrator of Warren Miller’s Days Off, to talk about play, storytelling, and the very real work behind making a ski film feel effortless. They explore Katie’s unconventional path into the outdoor industry, a whirlwind production across three continents, and the lesson that will resonate with every ski parent: after you pack the gear, plan the trip, and get everyone to the mountain, do not forget to join the fun.

What helps a young athlete grow through hard feedback without losing confidence? Former racer and coach Katie Twible joins The Ski Moms Podcast to talk about earned trust, athlete self-advocacy, and the line between productive discomfort and harmful coaching. She also shares how a career-ending injury redirected her from racing to coaching and, most recently, to telling the stories behind the sport at Ski Racing Media. This conversation is full of useful perspectives for ski parents, coaches, and anyone learning when to push, when to ask, and when to listen.
Katie Twible is a former ski racer and coach who now works at Ski Racing Media. Her career has included racing for the University of Colorado, coaching U16 athletes, and coaching with the US women's team. She brings an athlete-centered perspective to stories about resilience, leadership, coaching, and the people behind ski racing.

Three-time Olympic silver medalist Jaelin Kauf grew up chasing her older brother around Grand Targhee, building makeshift moguls with pine boughs, and learning to love skiing long before it became her career.
In this episode, Jaelin joins Nicole and Sarah to talk about the playful start that shaped one of America's fastest mogul skiers, what really goes into a moguls score, and the advice from her mom that still brings her back to her own reasons for competing.
They also dig into Jaelin's Deliver the Love foundation and its mission to help girls and women build confidence through movement and sport. Jaelin shares free resources for athletes, parents, and coaches, including a powerful reminder about the words we choose on the ride home after competition. It is an honest, useful conversation about ambition, self-worth, and keeping the joy alive at every level.

The countdown to ski season is officially on! In this episode, Nicole and Sarah sit down with Kate Hawley, Event Director for Snowbound Expo, to talk about one of the Northeast’s biggest celebrations of skiing, snowboarding and winter culture.
Snowbound Expo takes place November 14–15, 2026 at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. Kids under 12 are free. Use code SKIMOMS at checkout for discounted tickets.
Visit SnowboundExpo.com for schedules, exhibitors and event information, and check the Ski Moms website for our ticket discount code.
Kate shares what’s new for 2026, including appearances from Jessie Diggins, Travis Rice, Kimmy Fasani and Tom Walsh, plus the Rail Jam, Learn to Ski mini hill, trampoline show, and a new Alpine Fashion Runway.
We also talk about why Snowbound can be especially helpful for families preparing for their first ski season. Kids can see and touch the gear, learn how to read a trail map, meet representatives from local mountains and experience the energy of the ski community before ever stepping onto snow.
And Nicole and Sarah share their veteran Snowbound tips — from wearing comfortable shoes and arriving early to scouting local mountains ahead of time and leaving room to discover some of the smaller brands, artists and entrepreneurs you won't necessarily find at your local ski shop.

What happens when your side hustle becomes the thing you can’t stop thinking about?
In this episode of the Ski Moms Podcast, Nicole catches up with Charlotte Lilley, founder of The Retreat Co., to talk about leaving the corporate world, growing her women’s ski retreat business, and creating intentional outdoor experiences where women can adventure, connect, and try something new.
Charlotte first joined the podcast when The Retreat Co. was still The Ski Retreat. Since then, she’s gone all-in on entrepreneurship, expanded beyond ski trips into year-round women’s adventure retreats, and started building Serene Ravine, a 90-acre property near Lake Tahoe that she envisions as a future home for retreats, camping, glamping, dinners, weddings, and other outdoor experiences.
There’s also some big Ski Moms news: The Retreat Co. and Ski Moms are partnering on upcoming women’s ski retreats and events.
What You’ll Learn From This Episode
How Charlotte turned a six-year side hustle into her full-time career and grew The Ski Retreat into The Retreat Co.
Why small, intentional women’s retreats can create friendships that last well beyond the weekend.
What to expect from a women’s ski retreat, including accommodations, meals, activities, skiing, lessons, rentals, transportation, and rooming options.
Why learning something new as an adult—whether it’s skiing, camping, or mountain biking—can build confidence and connection.
How Ski Moms and The Retreat Co. are partnering to create more thoughtful, community-focused ski experiences for women.
One of Charlotte’s biggest lessons? You don’t have to wait until you already have the ski friends to take the ski trip. Sometimes you take the trip to find the ski friends.
