Noah Cates, who may or may not have been spotted with or in a walking boot following the Philadelphia Flyers Game 2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday, has been announced OUT for the rest of the second round. With Jett Luchanko’s OHL season ending earlier this week, it remains a possibility the 2024 first round pick fills in for Cates in the center rotation.

After losing a heartbreaking Game 2 in overtime, the Philadelphia Flyers trail the Carolina Hurricanes 2-0 as the series transitions to Philly.

The Philadelphia Flyers got off to a hot start, netting a pair of goals before five minutes had been played, but that was it for the offensive output, and the Carolina Hurricanes were able to erase the deficit in regulation and eventually win in overtime, taking a 2-0 lead with the series now set to come back to Philly.

The Philadelphia Flyers won a first round matchup with the Pittsburgh Penguins, but the Carolina Hurricanes are a class above the rest of the Metropolitan Division, and proved it in the first game of this second round matchup.

Logan Stankoven remained one of the hottest scorers in the postseason and Freddie Andersen made the stops he had to on the rare occasions the Flyers had the puck, and now Philly will have to figure out how to keep themselves alive in this series.
