It has been less than a month since the NFL's new league year began, but its been quite a busy offseason for 49ers general manager John Lynch. Now, with the dust settled at the 2026 Annual League Meeting, Lynch appeared with local Bay Area media to offer his assessment on the San Francisco's offseason thus far and the NFL Draft not far ahead. San Francisco did a lot of its business early in free agency. Now, with the 2026 NFL Draft less than one month away, and a lot of its major roster holes addressed, the 49ers' brass head to Phoenix for the 2026 NFL Annual League Meetings. Here, team owners, executives, head coaches and front office personnel gather to discuss rule changes, bylaws and league business. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was back on the sidelines this weekend, coaching in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic held at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. The event served as a showcase for flag football's inclusion in the 2028 Summer Olympics Games. Following the showcase, NBC Sports Bay Area's Jennifer Lee Chan got an exclusive 1-on-1 interview with Shanahan to discuss his participation in the exhibition and most importantly his views on San Francisco's offseason business since the beginning of the new league year. Matt Maiocco then joins Jennifer to break down flag football, Shanahan's comments and where the 49ers stand roster-wise a month out from the 2026 NFL Draft.
