Season 16, Episode 81 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right back into discussing the breaking news of the Buffalo Bills firing HC Sean McDermott following the team's loss on Saturday to the Denver Broncos in one of the four Divisional Round playoff games that took place over the weekend.

We discuss the impact of the Bills open head coaching job on the Pittsburgh Steelers and how there are now eight openings around the NFL following the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons hiring John Harbaugh and Kevin Stefanski, respectively, over the weekend. We also discuss the possibility of McDermott receiving an interview with the Steelers.

The Steelers will reportedly interview Mike McCarthy for their head coach job as of this past weekend, so Alex and I discuss that news. We discuss whether McCarthy is a serious candidate to become the next head coach of the Steelers and if either of us are a fan of such a potential hire.

Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver is one of several head coach candidates of the Steelers at this stage of the process and with him now set for an in-person interview, Alex and I discuss him more thoroughly during this show. Could Weaver be the leading under-the-radar potential hire for the Steelers at this point? We discuss everything related to his candidacy during this show.

Alex and I breakdown and update the latest news and dates related to the Steelers ongoing head coach search during this show. We also discuss the interest that several of the Steelers head coach candidates reportedly have from other NFL teams.

The Steelers’ list of players signed to Reserve/Future contracts grew over the weekend, so Alex and I make sure to update that news related to recent transactions made by the team.

With the Divisional Round of the 2025-2026 playoffs now in the books, Alex and I go over our main takeaways from the four games that took place over the weekend. We discuss the four quarterbacks and four head coaches that remain alive in the playoffs. We also discuss the quick turnaround made by three of the remaining playoff teams as it relates to future optimism for the Steelers.
