GMO Cookies Strain Review: Garlic, Gas & a Perfectly Chill High

    18/08/2026 | 28min
Welcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse revisit one of their longtime favorites: GMO Cookies, also known as GMO or Garlic Cookies.
Created from Girl Scout Cookies and Chemdog genetics, GMO has become a building block for countless modern cannabis crosses. There is a reason it keeps returning to the rotation: the flavor is unmistakable, the experience is reliable, and even after trying hundreds of products, it still holds a place among the guys’ favorite strains.
GMO delivers one of those flavor profiles that sounds terrible on paper but somehow works beautifully in cannabis. Expect garlic, diesel, onion, earth, pepper, skunk, and something slightly fermented. It is dark, savory, and funky without leaving you feeling like you ate an entire clove of garlic.
The experience begins with a pleasant, head-forward brightness before the relaxing side starts moving in. It feels euphoric, social, and calming without immediately shutting everything down. With larger amounts, however, GMO can become much heavier and sleepier. This is commonly a high-THC strain, so new or sensitive consumers should approach it carefully.
A small amount may be plenty. You can always consume more, but you cannot un-smoke the bowl.
Brandon and Jesse also discuss why GMO works so well in strain combinations, how layering flower and concentrates can create a more consistent experience, and why its savory flavor can enhance a meal. The commonly reported terpene profile includes beta-caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene, although every grow and batch will be different.
The class then moves into joint rolling, flavored papers, avoiding an uneven burn, Utah flower quality, irradiated cannabis, and the difference between dry flower and poorly grown flower. Jesse also introduces his extremely potent homemade “Stargazer Honey,” leading to an important conversation about edible tolerance, careful labeling, safe storage, and knowing your personal dose.
The final verdict? GMO remains an old-school favorite with a strange flavor, a bright-but-relaxed experience, and enough potency to remind experienced consumers that a little can still go a long way.

Trauma, Tall Tales & the Deep Diver Combo

    13/08/2026 | 38min
Welcome back to Cannabis School! This week’s Sesh begins with Brandon discovering that his mom shared the podcast with someone who recently started working in human resources for a cannabis retailer.
Apparently, Cannabis School is becoming an unexpected educational resource—which is exciting and slightly terrifying when you remember how quickly these conversations can leave the classroom.
Brandon and Jesse settle into the session with a custom cannabis combination: Novarine by Find Cannabis mixed with Black Triangle. The vapor feels dry on the throat, but the combination produces a strong, relaxing experience that the guys decide to call Deep Diver.
The conversation takes a serious turn as Brandon and Jesse discuss trauma, survival responses, personal growth, and the different ways people process difficult experiences. They talk about compassion, observation, professional therapy, and why healing does not follow a universal schedule.
From there, the discussion moves into tall tales, invented identities, military stories, and the possibility that some people create elaborate versions of themselves to protect—or escape—the person underneath.
Once the Deep Diver combination fully arrives, the Sesh becomes considerably less focused. The guys revisit Robin Williams’ unpredictable comedy, discuss common misconceptions about stimulant drugs, and share cautionary stories about past substance use and poor decisions.
Jesse recalls an early-2000s experience involving friends, an old manual Honda Civic, one enormous mistake, and a very close encounter with a fire hydrant. It is a funny story in hindsight, but also a clear example of how quickly impaired decisions can become dangerous.
This is a classic Cannabis School Sesh: thoughtful, personal, funny, occasionally uncomfortable, and intended for mature audiences.

    Novarine Strain Review

    11/08/2026 | 17min
Welcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse review Novarine by Find Cannabis, a sativa-dominant flower available in Utah’s medical cannabis market.
Novarine crosses Caprichosa Thai with a THCV-rich Thai landrace, giving it old-school genetics and an experience far removed from the sweet dessert strains filling dispensary shelves.
The aroma is one of the strangest we’ve encountered. Think funky feet, Indian spices, flowers, earth, and a little sweetness hiding underneath everything else. The vapor starts sharp and floral, while the buds have orange pistils, visible trichomes, and a clean—but fairly dry—appearance.
The Find Cannabis batch reviewed in this episode was labeled at approximately 26.76% THC and included several minor cannabinoids. That higher potency is another reminder to read the package in front of you: cannabinoid levels can vary considerably between growers and batches, even when the strain name stays the same.
Novarine comes on fast. At first, we experienced a bright headspace, increased alertness, restless energy, and pressure around the temples, jaw, and neck. It stopped just short of feeling anxious and never caused a noticeably racing heart. As the session continued, that physical tension faded and the experience became calmer, slower, and surprisingly relaxing.
Is Novarine good for daytime use? It could be—especially for experienced consumers who want energetic effects for chores, movement, exercise, or another physical activity. We were less convinced about using it for complicated mental work because the early restlessness needed somewhere to go.
At roughly $44 for an eighth, Novarine was not a bargain, but it was not outrageous for Utah either. The dry flower and uncomfortable opening kept it from becoming an everyday favorite, but its funky profile and dramatic shift from energy to relaxation made it memorable.
Would we hunt it down every time? Probably not.
Would we be mad if it randomly landed in the stash again? Not at all.
    In this episode:
    • Novarine’s Caprichosa Thai and Thai landrace genetics
    • THC, THCV, minor cannabinoids, and batch variation
    • Funky, spicy, floral, and earthy aromas
    • Vaporizing Novarine versus smoking it
    • Its fast sativa onset and calmer finish
    • Temple pressure, jaw tension, and restless energy
    • Terpenes, flower quality, dryness, and trimming
    • Old-school genetics versus modern dessert strains
    • Whether Novarine is worth buying in Utah
    • Def Leppard, Corvettes, and the usual Cannabis School detours
    Chapters:
    00:00 Welcome to Cannabis School
    00:31 Find Cannabis Novarine
    01:14 Genetics and sativa dominance
    02:04 THC and minor cannabinoids
    03:37 Terpene profile
    04:08 First effects
    05:29 Daytime use
    05:55 Flower quality

    14:47 The calmer finish

    Sweet Berry Lemonade

    04/08/2026 | 26min
Welcome to class! Today, Brandon and Jesse head back to the cannabis kitchen to create a custom combo they’re calling Sweet Berry Lemonade.
The recipe starts with two very different flowers: the dark, funky, berry-forward Halle Berry by Betty and the bright, citrusy Super Lemon G from Dragonfly Brand Zero. After experimenting with the proportions, the guys land on a 50/50 blend that delivers the best of both worlds: an alert mind, a relaxed body, easy conversation, and plenty of flavor.
Along the way, they explore how each flower contributes to the experience, why cannabinoid and terpene profiles can matter more than THC percentage alone, and how changing a blend’s ratio can completely change its effects. The conversation also wanders through mindful consumption, vaporizing versus smoking joints, gaming, creativity, and why the right cannabis combo can make a social activity even more enjoyable.

The final verdict? Half Halle Berry and half Super Lemon G produced a sweet, citrusy, berry-lemonade flavor with an elevated mood, gentle physical relaxation, creative energy, and a clear enough head to enjoy the moment.
