Algorithm! What is it? You hear this word everyday and everywhere you go. It is what YouTubers blame for their lack of success on YouTube. It is what social media influencers blame for their decreased audience reach on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms. It is what marketers blame for their lack of success with google SEO while simultaneously thanking algorithms for marketers targeted success with digital advertising. It is what the Russians used to elect Donald Trump as U.S. President in 2016 by using Facebook User and Advertisement platform. It is what allowed a system called AlphaZero by DeepMind to use algorithms to teach itself chess, shogi, and go games without human beings teaching it anything at all. This AlphaZero system then went on to defeat the world champions in go, shogi, and chess game.

What career paths are available with a data science education? Have you ever wondered if there are alternatives to being a data scientist or what career paths a data science education could lead you to? Well, in this article, I have outlined career paths that are possible with a data science education. This list gives you an idea of careers that are related to data science. With a data science education, your career can progress vertically which means you could become a senior data scientists, lead data scientist, and chief data science officer. Or, your career could move horizontally where you progress from being a data scientist to a data engineer to a data architect. With a data science education, you have many different career options now and in the future.
U.S. Salary information is from Payscale.com and this salary information is for U.S. Averages only. This number is much higher for tech hub cities like San Francisco California, New York City, Seattle Washington, and other tech hub cities. This salary information is also higher with experience and mastery of difference skills. A lot of the skills required for all these careers overlap, that is why it makes for an easy transition from data science to any of these careers listed below. You can easily transfer your skills from data science to other career paths and industries.
