  • Shocking Truths on How to Create the DEEP Friendships You Crave: Thoughts From a Former Ghoster
Hiii friends! Welcome back to this lil corner of the internet! It’s time for another episode of ✨Finding Your Casual Magic✨ and I am SO excited to have you here with me. First, a massive THANK YOU for all the love on the last few episodes! Reading your messages and hearing your casual magic moments has been the most heartwarming thing ever—it truly makes this space feel like a community. 💛 In today’s episode, we’re diving into one of my favourite topics ever: friendship. 🌟 We’re talking about how to create and sustain deep, meaningful connections in adulthood, embracing the bravery required to be vulnerable, and learning how to lean into those moments that test and strengthen our relationships. I open with a short guided meditation to help you feel present (a little pause for you in this busy, busy world), and then we get into the nitty-gritty. I share my own journey with friendship - what I’ve learned from being a self-confessed “bad friend,” how productivity culture impacts the way we connect, and why intentionality is key to maintaining close friendships. Plus, I reference some fascinating studies on loneliness, social media’s role in modern friendships, and why the health benefits of deep relationships are just as important as diet and exercise. Some of the insights in today’s episode come from: How to Make, and Keep, Friends in Adulthood: https://bit.ly/4al22Dw Surprising Friendship Statistics: https://bit.ly/4jhICUj The Roles of Social Media Use and Friendship Quality in Adolescents’ Well-being: https://bit.ly/4g1K4an Friendships and Health: https://bit.ly/4alHs64 Of course, we close with our Casual Magic of the Week (shoutout to Maike from the Netherlands for their beautiful story about reconnecting with nature 🏞️). Then, as always, I guide you through a moment of reflection and intention setting for the week ahead. I hope this episode leaves you feeling inspired to reach out to a friend, make someone feel loved, or even reflect on what friendship means to you. 💌 Timestamps 0:00 - Welcome back + intro to the episode 3:28 - Guided meditation: pause, breathe, and ground yourself 5:40 - Friendship in adulthood: why it’s hard and why it matters8:40 - The loneliness epidemic: the stats behind our friendships15:29 - My friendship journey: from bad friend to better friend 23:36 - Productivity culture + hyper-independence: how they hurt connection 27:15 - Social media’s role in modern friendships 32:33 - Leaning into vulnerability + learning to communicate better 35:20 - Practical tips for sustaining long-distance friendships 42:45 - Jade's best advice for maintaining deeper friendships 46:00 - Why it’s okay to “burden” the people in your life 47:23 - Casual Magic of the Week: Maike reconnects with nature 50:45 - Reflection + setting intentions for the week ahead 💛 Share your Casual Magic of the Week! • Why You’re Looking for Happiness in the Wrong Places
Hello friends, welcome back to the twelfth episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ (Happy New Year!!!) Have you ever caught yourself saying, oh, I'll be happy when I have the perfect partner and I'm no longer single? When I finally quit the job and I'm in my dream career, when I go on my dream holiday, or when climate change is solved and no one's suffering in the world anymore? When have you reached a goal but felt unfulfilled shortly after? Have you ever caught yourself thinking that when you cross that finish line everything will fall into place, only to realise that there's a new race ahead? I really hope today's episode re inspires you to realise that today is a gift. Your life is a gift, and your life is actually pretty amazing right now as it is. Today we're looking at something that I'm so passionate about. The illusion that our lives will feel better in the future after some vague outcome or life event, when the truth is you will carry the feelings that you have about yourself and your life now into whatever destination you're trying to get to. I'm going to walk you through a visualisation to help you really feel the deeper messages of today's episode and this idea of the arrival fallacy, which is when we think that upon achieving our goals, we'll finally attain all the happiness we desire, when in reality, a lot of the time the goalpost just changes. I'm also going to tell you about some of the happiest people that I've ever met and how generally the source of their happiness is being content with the now exactly as they are, with exactly everything that they have. The episode closes with my ‘Casual Magic of the Week’ and we hear from Marlene who shares their Casual Magic followed by intention setting for the week ahead. • 15 Minute Manifestation Meditation for Positive Energy in 2025
Hello friends, welcome back to a very special bonus episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨  So many of you guys DM'd me on Instagram asking for a guided meditation and I thought what better time of year than as we're all looking ahead into the new year thinking about our dreams, daring to dream again, thinking about what we want to manifest into this next chapter of our lives. So I really hope that this time can allow you to fill your cup, bring in the positive energy that you desire, and really help you tune into gratitude for all the abundance that's already present in your life so that you can help invite more in. And if you've never meditated before, I promise it's not scary. I really invite you to be open minded, to allow your experience to be whatever it is and and I really hope that you come away from the next 15 to 20 minutes feeling some kind of energy shift. You can practice this meditation whenever you like, but I recommend returning to it regularly if you really want these manifestations and visualisations to embed themselves in your psyche. I hope you enjoyed this episode and as always I just want to send you this reminder that no matter where you are in your self confidence journey, no matter how you might feel today, you are always enough. 💛 Timestamps: 00:00 Introduction and purpose of the guided meditation 00:28 Intentions and benefits of the guided meditation 01:02 Beginning the meditation: finding a comfortable position 01:43 Tuning into Your Breath 02:21 Deep Cleaning Breaths 03:27 Grounding awareness and releasing tension 05:55 Focus on your heart 07:12 Invoking gratitude 09:01 Turning towards the future 10:56 Creating a path of intention 12:23 Setting a Clear Intention for the Year Ahead 14:03 Returning to Present Moment 14:20 Conclusion and gratitude If you’d like to be featured as the Casual Magic of the week: 💌 Notice a moment of casual magic in your week. Sobre Finding Your Casual Magic

Casual magic is about how we find beauty in the mundane everyday. It's learning not to wait for joy at the end of our achievements, but to find contentment NOW in every single day of our lives. It’s that first sip of herbal tea in the morning, a smile from a stranger, or the way the light comes into your bedroom. Noticing trains your brain to redefine joy. Stay tuned for alternating episodes — one solo, and then a tandem ep where I bring on a guest to expand from a new angle. I want to serve up my vulnerability to softly encourage you to do the same. Welcome to this cosy corner! Jade x
