GOLF - The Preciousness of Each Round– Andrew Murray #387
Today on the show I welcome back my great friend and colleague Andrew Murray who I have known for over 30 years. It is also a poignant podcast as we pay tribute to the passing of one of both our friends Denis Durnian who was a terrific player on the European Tour and still holds jointly the incredible record of the lowest 9 hole score in ANY major when he shot an incredible 28 on the front 9 at Royal Birkdale in the 1983 Open He was one of the last of a unique golfer who managed to combine being a club pro with a successful career on the European Tour. With our conversation we hark back to a different time of golf but a wonderful time nevertheless. Andrew played many times with the great Severiano Ballesteros and he shares with us some wonderful stories about the charisma and genius of the late great and sadly missed Spanish player. The great Sandy Lyle and why he should have been Ryder Cup captain The evolution of golf coaching on the European Tour, the early days of star coaches such as David Leadbetter and Bob Torrance How coaching worked very successfully for some players but a disaster for others In our discussion we reinforced the need for Gratitude and Appreciation as a cornerstone of a golfing philosophy The very sad loss of Denis Durnian only reinforces how precious each round of golf actually is. What would a Golfing TRANSFORMATION look like for you? – Fred Shoemaker #386
Today on the show we wish a warm welcome back to one of golf's most influential coaches of the last 30 years. Fred Shoemaker. Fred authored the brilliant 'Extraordinary Golf and Extraordinary Putting' He taught the Extraordinary Golf Schools to thousands of golfers over many years and lives in a place that is close to heaven on earth Carmel Valley Ranch in Monterey California His impact on the game has been profound as he has asked golfers and coaches to think about what REALLY matters to them when they play the game. The search for SELF MASTERY The best way to learn instead of just being taught The value of awareness Exploring what is as opposed to what we think is happening Not trying to 'fix' anything Seeing and experiencing the genius of your body Why we are held back by the culture of golf Seeing through the illusion of 'I will be happy when' Embracing the possibility of genuine transformation A great conversation with a wonderful coach and man Fred Shoemaker who has had such a big influence on me in my coaching Make sure you get a copy of 'Extraordinary Golf' To become a Certified Mind Factor coach go to www.themindfactor.com To join us on the Mind Caddie journey go to www.mindcaddie.golf Shop with code : MINDFACTOR10 at checkout for 10% OFF your next order at www.fenixxcell.com @fenixxcell

The Supreme Mental Skill of Acceptance – Jim Waldron #385
It is wonderful to welcome back again onto the show my very good friend Jim Waldron to discuss what I believe to be THE single most important mental skill of all ACCEPTANCE We have had Jim on the show many times before but each time I get him back people say just how much they enjoy our conversations Jim is such a generous man with his time and he brings with him an incredible depth and breadth of knowledge about the game. His own experiences and the people he has worked with and studied under. He is as busy as ever coaching in some wonderful locations in Oregon and Hawaii In today's conversation we discuss: Why acceptance is THE foundational mental game skill Acceptance of what our mind is actually doing Having some form of meditation practice Not resisting your experience Being willing to deal with all possible outcomes What acceptance certainly isn't As ever a really engaging and thought provoking session with a truly remarkable coac To find out more about Jim Waldron go to www.balancepointgolf.com To become a Certified Mind Factor coach go to www.themindfactor.com To join us on the Mind Caddie journey go to www.mindcaddie.golf Shop with code : MINDFACTOR10 at checkout for 10% OFF your next order at www.fenixxcell.com @fenixxcell

Why do we find SIMPLE golf so difficult? – Jon Sherman and Adam Young #384
On today's show we have a unique combination of two of the game's foremost thinkers and coaches Jon Sherman and Adam Young. They host the fabulous podcast 'The Sweet Spot' which I have been fortunate to be a guest on a few times. Adam Young is the author of the 'Practice Manual' and Jon Sherman is the author of 'Four Foundations of Golf' We had a fabulous conversation about how to REALLY make a difference to your game We discussed the Big Three of Impact The non negotiables Face Orientation Strike Location Ground Contact The difference between focusing on Micro and Macro in coaching How the genius lies with the student not the coach Why it is easier to sell a 'swing system' than giving the power to the student Know what you are signing up for if you are working on MACRO changes Getting to the 'scene of the crime' with impact Understanding the power of INTENTION Can you do the process as a student What is ACTUALLY happening at impact Keeping track of your impact patterns Being open to what you HAVE today as opposed to what you WISH you had Understanding how you need to change your questions to change your game. A ground breaking conversation with two wonderful coaches Are YOU going to be brave enough to keep it simple?
