Miami E-Prix: Evans dominates as Jaguar roar into life

    04/2/2026 | 50min
Unseasonably cool and damp conditions in Miami tore the formbook apart at the first ever Hard Rock Stadium race. While many teams got the last minute set-ups wrong, including the crucial tyre-pressure optimisation, Jaguar roared back to the top step of the podium with a conclusive victory for Mitch Evans.

After scoring zero points in the first two races of the season the ‘Big Cat’ roared back and had it not been for getting wiped-out by an over eager Felipe Drugovich it may well have been a 1-2.

Host Andrew van de Burgt and reporter Sam Smith dissect a fascinating race, highlighting how several fancied runners, including total protagonists Oliver Rowland and Nick Cassidy got it so wrong.

The inevitable ranty end to Dan Ticktum’s race is also picked over, as is the Miami event and how Formula E can grow it, and where another U.S race may fit in to its calendar next year. Plus, Andrew and Sam discuss the race's key stats in the Stat Pack from Infosys.

How Cassidy put Citroen on top in Mexico thriller

    15/1/2026 | 53min
The first major international race of 2026 proved to be a thriller at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez as Nick Cassidy scored Citroen Racing’s first Formula E victory in only its second race.

The Kiwi scored possibly his greatest E-Prix win from 13th on the grid after an audaciously clinical Attack Mode strategy was pulled against all the odds. Some brilliant overtaking was also built in to the drive which Cassidy pulled off superbly to head a close train of Edoardo Mortara, Oliver Rowland, Taylor Barnard and Jake Dennis over the finishing line.

Andrew van de Burgt and Sam Smith pull away the layers of strategic intrigue armed with The Stat Pack powered by Infosys, and also discuss other great performances including Sebastien Buemi’s mighty pole position lap and Taylor Barnard’s ohh so close perfect lap for DS Penske.

The ever-controversial Dan Ticktum didn’t disappoint in the ranting stakes with a blistering opinion of what he deemed to be the stewards’ shortcomings, and his teammate Pepe Marti’s astonishing run from last on the grid to seventh place is also analysed.

Reviewing the chaotic Sao Paulo E-Prix

    12/12/2025 | 50min
A memorably chaotic first race of the 2025-26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is picked over by Andrew van de Burgt and Sam Smith as Jake Dennis took the first win of the campaign and Pepe Marti hit the headlines with massive accident.

The new season also witnessed excellent drives by reigning champion Oliver Rowland in second place and Nick Cassidy who sealed a debut podium for the Citroen Racing squad in third after a typically clinical run.

The chaos wasn’t confined to Marti’s acrobatics, as Lucas di Grassi shunted out Edoardo Mortara, while series veterans Mitch Evans and Sebastien Buemi also clashed on more than one occasion.

But it will be Marti’s disastrous mistake which will be recalled from 2025 Sao Paulo EPrix, and The Race speaks to the Spanish rookie about the incident that ended an otherwise strong debut.

Pre-season testing reviewed + Your questions answered

    06/11/2025 | 55min
Formula E pre-season testing returned to Valencia after a year away and gave hosts Andrew van de Burgt and Sam Smith several headaches during the traditional guessing game of who might be favourites for the coming season.

Was there any kind of hierarchy forming? What are the chances of Oliver Rowland going back-to-back? And just where does Stoffel Vandoorne fit in to the Gen4 driver market?

These are just some of the questions that are tackled in the latest episode of The Race Formula E podcast, which sees Smith getting trackside at Valencia where he was especially impressed by one manufacturer.

The second women’s test is also picked over, as are several listeners' questions as our team discuss Jacques Villeneuve’s questionable Formula E legacy, Felipe Massa’s poor choice in picking fights, and why a Chinese manufacturer is yet to be seen in recent Formula E action.
