I was at the Ophthalmo Cordoba conference in Argentina and I saw a great presentation about complex ocular trauma cases. I first met Dr Rehan Ahmed more than 15 years ago when he was an ophthalmology resident at Baylor University in Texas (one of the top eye surgery training programs in the USA) and even then he was notable as a superstar. He has continued that trajectory as a highly skilled ophthalmologist and has also pioneered into the new world of AI (artificial intelligence or augmented intelligence) in eye care and he is the host of a great podcast called "AI in Eye Care" which I can highly recommend.

Teaching the next generation of ophthalmic surgeons is monumental task and it requires a teacher who has great surgical skill, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to transform beginners into master surgeons.
